What actually drives the cost of a move
Most moving quotes are a black box. We would rather explain up front how your price is put together — otherwise you cannot compare offers at all.
Volume
How many cubic metres get moved. A two-room flat typically runs 20–30 m³, a family house 60 m³ and up. This sets truck size and crew strength.
Distance
Within one town there is barely any travel time. Long-distance moves add mileage, driving hours and sometimes an overnight stay for the crew.
Floor and access
Fourth floor without a lift costs time — and time is the real cost driver. Narrow staircases, long carrying distances or a missing parking permit have the same effect.
Extra services
Packing and unpacking, kitchen assembly, storage, disposal of old furniture, furniture lift. All optional — you decide what you handle yourself.

FAQ
The questions we get most
How far in advance should I book?
Four to six weeks ahead is ideal, especially at the end of the month and over the summer — those are the busiest slots. Short notice usually works too: just call, we can often manage even the next day.
Do I have to pack myself?
Only if you want to. Many customers pack boxes themselves and leave furniture, appliances and transport to us — that is the cheapest option. On request we handle the complete packing and unpacking, dishes and clothes included.
What is insured if something breaks?
A removal company’s statutory liability is €620 per cubic metre of load space. Our transport insurance is already part of the hourly rate, so there is no surcharge. For particularly valuable items — art, instruments, antiques — we agree extended cover in advance.
Do you arrange the parking permit zone?
Yes, we apply for it with the city and put up the signs. The authority’s fee is passed on to you at cost. A permit zone often saves more on moving day than it costs, because the crew does not have to carry everything 50 metres.
Can you store my furniture in the meantime?
Yes. If there is a gap between moving out and moving in, we store your belongings securely and deliver them on the agreed date. Cost depends on volume and duration.
Do you dismantle and reinstall kitchens?
We handle kitchen dismantling and assembly. Our staff are not permitted to connect electrical or gas fittings — that requires a certified technician. We are happy to put you in touch with one.
What does a move cost with you?
It depends on volume, distance, floor and the extras you want. We survey free of charge and then give you a written fixed price. We never charge weekend surcharges.
Can I ride along in the vehicle?
By arrangement this is often possible — especially on long-distance moves if you do not have a car yourself. We cannot promise it across the board, though: it depends on the vehicle used, the number of seats and whether there are further stops en route. Mention it when you enquire and we will sort it out in advance.
Do you move abroad as well?
Yes, across Europe — and back to Germany from abroad. We take care of planning, packing, transport and the necessary paperwork.
